In Washington, DC, you can experience every aspect of the American legal system, from the exalted chambers of the Supreme Court to the dogged determination of the Public Defenders who defend indigents in criminal trials. You can work with large, powerful law firms which operate at the intersection of lobbying and corporate law, or you can join the team at a small law firm, specializing in one or two specific sub-fields. You can work at the Justice Department, or with the Judiciary Committees of Congress. The possibilities are endless. A few examples of possible externships related to Law are:
