With so much to do, you need never be bored in Washington. More likely, you will run down the clock before doing all you want. Whether joining fellow students in CIW's organized social outings or exploring the full extent of the capital region, you'll exhaust yourself before you exhaust the city.

OPENING DAY OF THE PROGRAM

Mandatory Orientation

Your first commitment to the SIW Program is the mandatory orientation for students only (approx. 2 hours). The session covers social events, city living, and academic topics. maybe even your internship.Orientation will be followed by some fun.....

Lunch and a Tour of Washington

Enjoy lunch at the Center at noon before boarding a bus for a narrated 3-hour tour of monumental Washington; potential stops are the White House, Capitol, and the Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln memorials. The bus leaves from the front of the Cornell Center.

CLASSES BEGIN


Washington Nationals versus Atlanta Braves

The Nats play baseball at Nationals Park. Security may prohibit backpacks or similarly sized bags. Directions to the ballpark will be provided.

A Tour of the National Gallery of Art

Eric Denker, Senior Lecturer in the Education Department of the National Gallery, will serve as guide and lecturer for the tour.
